Life Breathed Into Us.

Blog is back.
(Was it ever really gone or are these just brief pauses?)
(Also what’s a year?)

I find myself more and more with things I should be complaining about, criticizing, and hopefully through speaking, improving. So let me see what I can do here.

Tesla Letter Head.
If only I was this cool.

Gagosian Crash Poster.
I would buy this poster if it wasn’t so expensive (and the typography … eh.)

Chris Martenson Videos.
Golan said I should watch these so I was gonna have Isaac test-screen them for me but I don’t think he finished. So watch at your own two hour risk.

WhoseTube? – OKGo.
Really spot on op-ed by the lead singer of OKGo – which gives me even more respect for a band that makes the most innovative music videos around.

Sleep is Death.
Forthcoming video game (by the Jason Rohrer, the guy who did Passage) which may or may not be “Incredibly Awesome.”

Related: Passage in 10 seconds.
An even more awesome take on Jason Rohrer’s Passage.

And finally, The Brand Quiz.
Very well designed, very pretentious. My favorites.

Photo-Tweets

the disaster is faster

The idea here, had by @kevygee, was for me to take my 365 project and align the photos with my tweets from 2009. I have selected 100 photo-tweet pairs and displayed them below. In each photo-tweet caption is the tweet-time which links to the original tweet.

So, @patrickgage‘s 100 photo-tweets of 2009.

Grief is a Reward

I looked at Mr. McCommon, his hands smothering his face, his chest flinching. He had no idea that grief was a reward. That it only came to those who were loyal, to those who loved more than they were capable of. He had a garage, full of her belongings, and all I had was my guilt.

Ghost

You think a blog is dead, but then it is not.

You think that guy is off in space, but he’s not. Space is out, and he is in. Space is off of this planet, and he is still busy roaming it, tracing footsteps in the sand or more recently the snow as it has piled, turning land into sunflection. But if he were to return, it might reappear, moving from that state of dormancy into something that speaks. It still has the will to do that, when the time is right. And you can’t fight a ghost.

it’s a signal (it’s a sign)
it’s a different sort of understanding with the ways we perceive time.

A Patrick Wolf Teaser

Posted 955 days ago in , comments closed.

This is mostly just a teaser to make certain people jealous. More photos soon when I catch up on being (presently) 24 days behind.

In other news I have now seen the number one person on my list of “people-I-really-need-to-see-in-concert,” who also happened to be the last person on that list (it was never more than two people and I saw björk back at ACL) so… I should think about that. Suggestions? Who haven’t I seen that I really need to? The only two people on my top 10 on last.fm that I haven’t seen are Alanis Morissette (and I hate big stadium shows so she needs to get a lot more unpopular) and Kate Bush who has only toured once in her life and I wasn’t born yet…
